I am thrilled to announce that my lab has just published a public Global Reforestation Organization Directory in collaboration with Mongabay. We score how well 127 global tree-growing organizations commit to following permanence, ecological, social, and financial best practices. Our goal with this site is to: (i) help potential funders identify organizations that share similar priorities and commit to the highest standards in reforestation efforts, and (ii) incentivize reforestation organizations to more clearly communicate their policies and develop more transparent reporting and data sharing practices. We've had a few new papers come out in the Holl Lab recently:
Karen Holl and Fulbright Scholar Sugeng Budiharta are co-authors on a paper entitled Harnessing opportunities to upscale forest landscape restoration in Indonesia in Trees, Forests, and People.
Brook Constantz published a paper on "Diverging restoration pathways for overstory and understory communities in a Mediterranean-climate riparian ecosystem in Ecological Applications
Francis Joyce just led a paper in Journal of Applied Ecology comparing seedling establishment limitation in our long-term restoration treatments in southern Costa Rica.
Dr. Holl's book "Primer of Ecological Restoration" is available in Chinese and Persian. The Spanish and Portuguese versions are available open access.
